Internet Retailer Website
Internet Retailer in their Eye on Returns, September 2003, publication and their August 31, 2004, LA Times article emphasizes the how retailers are learning that a good returns/exchange policy is good for business. A survey by Jupiter Research, Inc. last year showed that 17% of consumers who shop online have purchased in stores instead of on the web because the on-line returns process can be too difficult. Further, 36% of online shoppers said they would be influenced to shop more online if the return policy was more customer friendly. (delete free). Customers have commented that the comfort of being able to exchange a product in a store enhanced their online buying experience. Says Andre Brysha, VP of e-commerce for Ritz Interactive Inc. Many Purchase online companies including: Zappos, HP Shipping, Crutchfield, Home Depot, Office Depot, Staples, Best Buy, Apple, Target Corp, Hot Topic Inc., LL Bean and Circuit City are faced with the online purchase, return/exchange conundrum.
